Kim Allan

Lymphoedema Physiotherapist

MGS is pleased to be able to offer a new exclusive service to our patients. Introducing Kim Allan, a physiotherapist and lymphoedema therapist with and 35 years experience advanced training in the treatment of Lymphoedema and Lipoedema.

She is well equipped to treat all areas of the body and has many tools at her disposal ( Massage, bandaging, low level laser, lymphatouch negative pressure therapy, sequential intermittent pneumatic compression pump, garmenting, skin, wound and scar care and early intervention monitoring with LDex). Kim will also assist you to apply for funding for garments through the Enable scheme.

From her initial training at Sydney University then RNSH, Kim has worked across a broad spectrum of  private and public settings. Her experience enables her to see each person as a whole and her passion is to guide and equip you to care for yourself well. “Most people know what they need to do, they just need to know how!”

Kim runs a mobile lymphoedema service  www.breakthru.physio  and joins MGS to set up a centre of best practice in Lymphoedema management here on the Northern Beaches. She is very excited about locating her rooms with us at MGS Mona Vale as there has been a dramatic shortage of her particular services on the Northern Beaches for many years.

She was born prematurely in Manly Hospital and has been keen to make the most of life ever since! Kim spent most of her childhood riding her bike, bushwalking in Kuringai Chase and looking for frogs. This has turned into a love of the outdoors, respect for the environment and gratitude for the life she has lived. Yes she still rides her bike, explores canyons when she can and likes to sing!

Kim has 3 grown but not yet flown children, a husband and a cat. Keep your eye on our website for more details about some of the specific conditions that Kim can help you out with.
